英语说奥运：跳水大奖吴敏霞创奥运纪录

当地时间8月7日，中国女子跳水队老将吴敏霞与搭档施廷懋夺得了女双三米板的冠军。这是吴敏霞第四次参加奥运会，实现双人3米板的四连冠，同时收获她的第五枚奥运金牌，谱写了跳水界的全新传奇、她以5金1银1铜的战绩成为奥运会跳水项目第一人。

China secured the first diving gold medal of the Rio Olympics when Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao won the women's synchronized 3m springboard on Sunday.

吴敏霞与施廷懋获得跳水女双三米板冠军，为中国队锁定首枚跳水项目金牌。

The performance also secured a raft of records for veteran Wu.

这一成绩也让老将吴敏霞创造了一系列纪录。

Wu Minxia, 30, became the first women’s diver to win a gold medal in four consecutive Olympics and the oldest woman to win an Olympic diving gold medal.

30岁的吴敏霞成为首个连续四届奥运会都获得金牌的女子跳水运动员，同时也成为获得奥运跳水金牌年龄最大的女运动员。

Wu’s seven Olympic diving medals dating back to the 2004 Athens Games are the most ever by a woman, surpassing compatriot Guo JingJing(six).

吴敏霞从2004年雅典奥运会至今一共获得7枚跳水奖牌，成为奥运会跳水项目获得奖牌最多的女运动员，超过了前队友郭晶晶的纪录(6枚)。

不管是世界纪录(world record)还是奥运会纪录(the Olympic record)，有人创造了纪录，之后就会有人来打破。

“打破世界纪录”可以用break/smash/rewrite/shatter the world record来表示。

举重比赛(weightlifting)分为两个项目：抓举(snatch)和挺举(clean and jerk)，两个项目举起的总重量最高者获胜。

创造世界纪录多用set/make/create a world record表示，另外，也可以用更加直白的...becomes the first to ... in the world来表示。

比如上文中的：Wu Minxia, 30, became the first women’s diver to win a gold medal in four consecutive Olympics.

此外，如果表现很不错，平了世界纪录则可以用equal the world record来表示。

比如：He is quite confident that he can at least equal the world record in this category.

他很自信在这个项目上至少能平了世界纪录。
