Here is a tough question for you! What seems to be the hardest thing in the world for anyone to do? Is that what you think? Well, you have to WAIT for something! And its especially hard to wait PATIENTLY for something! But listen to what David said in our Bible.
Psalm 40:l I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. David is saying he waited patiently for the Lord to DO SOMETHING. We dont know what it was David was waiting for the Lord to do, but we do know he waited. What does it mean to be patient?
That means to wait calmly and without complaining. David waited without trying to make things work out. What happened? Inclined means God turned His attention to David and heard him and answered his prayer!
If you are a child of God, dont get impatient when God doesn? answer your prayers right away. Be careful not to run ahead of God and try to work things out yourself. What happens when you do? Oh, you will surely miss the amazing and wonderful way your wise Heavenly Father would have worked things out! Gods timing and ways are so much better than ours! A good example of that is the life of Joseph. Read about him in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. Begin in chapter 37. Joseph waited patiently for the Lord to work, and only the LORD could have worked everything out so wonderfully! What might have happened if Joseph had tried to take matters in his own hands? Perhaps tried to escape from prison, or had a bitter, complaining spirit?
WAIT PATIENTLY FOR GOD TO WORK! Keep trusting Him and keep serving the Lord Jesus as Joseph did. God has lessons in His waiting room that you cannot learn if you run out! Remember God WILL work out His plan for your life SO MUCH better than you ever could. And you can miss important lessons as well as great blessings by running ahead of God. Will you this week go to God with those things that trouble you? Continue to pray about them and wait patiently for God to work. He will, He will work them out in His best time and in His best way.Keep praying, and patiently bearing with the problems in your life. Keep praying for that lost family member or friend. Keep doing your best with that problem at school! If Joseph could be here today, he would tell you to be patient and let God work out His wonderful plan!
If you have never believed in the Lord Jesus, that you might be saved from your sin, you are not Gods child. Did you know there is one thing for which God does NOT want you to wait! He wants you to be His child by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.Lets stand right now and say that verse together! Psalm 40:l I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psalm 40:l In Your time, In Your time, you make all things work for good, In Your time.Lord, Ill work watch pray,Lord, Ill let You have Your way,You make all things work for good, In Your time.
