　　Food Safety

　　Currently, many problems concerning the safety of food have popped up. As for me, I believe at least three factors account for this issue.

　　First, I observe that profits drive many food producers to commit illegal things. They aim to gain more money at the expense of consumers health. Second, the overuse of agricultural pesticide has resulted in the degradation of food quality. The excessive pesticide bears enormous health hazard for people. Furthermore, some food producers inject hormones into domestic animals so as to make them grow more quickly and thus they can turn in more profit. As a result, peoples health has been seriously disturbed.

　　All in all, food safety is such a great concern, and we all should establish laws and implement them effectively to avoid producing toxic foods.

　　小编的话：今天的主题是食品安全。民以食为天相信这句话是大家非常熟悉的，毛主席在开国初期的工作重点就是要解决几十亿人民的温饱问题。今天温饱问题早已解决，可是食品的安全却摆在我们的眼前，特别是近年来的什么毒大米，地沟油，人造酱油等等问题的出现，使食品安全成为大家一直关注的焦点，所以对于这点，咱也不能漏掉。

　　① 这本篇文章中，Daisy认为有个词组用的非常的好，那就是pop up，我们来看看pop up的意义和用法，

　　pop up : 突然出现, 冒出来。 举两个例句：1. He seems to pop up in the most unlikely places.在他似乎绝不可能到的地方，他往往就在那里出现。

　　2. As we walked along, we saw a rabbit pop up from its burrow and scurry across the field.我们正在向前走着，看到一只兔子突然从洞里跳出来，穿过田野。

　　这在以前来说，是不大可能出现的事。到了现代就突然出现了这么多的有毒有害产品。

　　②然后就是degradation n. 降格, 堕落, 退化的意思。用在这里很贴切，以后关于环境或者生活等等的语境下就可以用上这个单词。

　　环境恶化是当今国际社会普遍关注的全球性问题。

　　2. The role of dopants and contaminants in degradation cannot be ignored.

　　杂质和污染对退化的作用不能忽视。
