应试必备： 英语四级级作文点睛(三)

　　作文乃是一项长久积累的过程，下面要讲的小妙招一是为了对付英语四级考试，二是为了从根本上提高大家的英语写作水平。

　　 改词扩句

　　不改变原句的意思，仅通过词汇、语法手段使句子看起来更高级、地道。下面请看例子：

　　例7

　　原句：

　　In a developing country such as China, our investment in culture, education and science, and especially elementary education, must be thought of firstly. It is important for China to catch up with the developed nations in todays surging waves of technological revolution.

　　改句：

　　In a developing country such as China, our investment in culture, education and science, and especially elementary education, must enjoy top priority. It is crucial for China to catch up with the developed nations in todays surging waves of technological revolution.

　　【解析】

　　原句其实也是一个比较好的句子，但是细细观察后，我们依旧可以发现提高之处，be thought of firstly是要表示首先要考虑到，词汇相对简单，所以我们可以想一个高级点的词组。我想到的是priority这个单词，它的意思是优先 权，常常和top搭配在一起。至于动词enjoy，在这里解释为享有。important为常用词，所以我把其换成了 crucial。

　　例8

　　原句：

　　Some people violate traffic regulations and they should be punished in some ways. For example, they must pay some money.

　　改句：

　　Those who violate traffic regulations shoud be punished in some ways. For instance, they are required to pay the fine.

　　【解析】

　　原句中我们可以看到第一句话是由两个简单句合成的，主语一致，因此我们想办法把and去掉，合并成一句话，我建议可以用限定性定语从句来达到这个目的，具体句型是Those whoverb.。

　　其次，for example可以用for instance代替，两者是同义关系，但前者用的比较多，我们取少用一些的。

　　最后还有一个罚钱的固定搭配，那就是改句中呈现的pay the fine。

　　例9

　　原句：

　　In recent years, such majors as international finance, finance and accountancy, international trade have become more and more popular.

　　改句：

　　Recent years have witnessed an increase in the popularity of such majors as international finance, finance and accountancy, international trade.

　　【解析】

　　先仔细观察原句，发现原句中存在一个more and more的比较级，还发现原句中的头比尾重很多，在地道的英语中，句子的头应该比尾轻，比如这个常见句型It is important to do sth。所以，我们就这两点进行修改，我的建议是用witness这个动词，它作动词时，意思是见证，用在这里，化解了原句中的头重尾轻，同时也用一个很简单的单词increase来代替掉用的相当频繁的more and more。
