　　Thanks and Congratulations to My Friend

　　The birthday of Caoxiao , my best friend , will come soon . There is no more appropriate time than this for us to express our love and good wishes to her . So taking this good chance , I want to show my gratitude towards her for her long-time care and understanding .

　　Now I still remenber clearly that experience of illness . It happened in our freshman year , when we had just entered into college for not a long time . I was in hospital because of suffering from an infectious disease . Being worried about being infected , my classmates would not like to go to the hospital go see me . However , Caoxiao volunteered to care about me almost everyday until I recovered completely , which made me feel deep love and concern from a friend .

　　Every time I remind this and all love she gave , I can understand the real meaning of friendship . I will cherish our friendship all the time . Furthermore , I will , like her , show my care and love to every friend of mine . I believe the word a friend in need is a friend indeed .

　　An Eye-witness Account of a Robbery

　　I am Li Ming , a college student . A week ago I witnessed a robbery on the street . The crime was so reckless and rampant that I was left a deep impression .

　　It was at about 5 P.M , June 15th , when I was walking in a lonely road with few pedestrians around . Suddenly I heard a shout , Freeze ! Return my bag ! I found that a young boy was running ahead , and an old woman was exerting to chase him . Obviously it was a robbery . A few people stopped to watch , but nobody would like to help that old woman . As a result , soon the robber disappeared from our view .

　　Many factors comtributed to the happening of this robbery . The robbers low moral quality and legal consciousness was certainly the main one . But in my opinion , it was more because most people were too indifferent to the crime . If at that time the watchers had lent a hand . I belive , the robber could not have escaped . Therefore , it is high time that we united together to fight against the crimes .
