　　Chinas State Council Wednesday announced plans to ease the tax burden on lower and middle-income workers by raising the minimum threshold.　　The plan would also result in other changes to the countrys nine income tax brackets.

　　The changes will need to be approved by the legislatures Standing Committee, but Chinas official news agency says the goal is to encourage more people to start their own businesses.

　　Xinhua says China last raised the minimum threshold for income taxes in March 2008, but that some economists said at the time that the increase was not enough.

　　Also Wednesday, Chinas central bank published plans calling for the increased use of Chinese currency in cross-border trade.

　　The bank said it will expand the use of the yuan by importers and exporters.

　　China has been trying to encourage use of the yuan to make it a more prominent currency in global finances.

　　中国国务院星期三宣布了通过提高个人所得税起征点来减轻中低收入者的税务负担的计划。

　　这个计划还会对中国9个所得税的税率带来其他的改变。

　　这些变动需要得到全国人大常委会的批准，但是中国官方的新华社说，这样做的目的是要鼓励更多的人自己创业。

　　新华社说，中国上一次提高个人所得税起征点是在2008年3月，但是一些经济学家当时表示，个税起征点上调的力度不够。

　　中国央行星期三也公布了要求在跨境贸易中增加使用人民币的计划。

　　中国人民银行说，它将扩大进出口商对人民币的使用。

　　中国一直试图鼓励人民币的使用，使之成为国际金融中一个更加重要的货币。
