高二英语语法惯用法：英语可说propose sb to do sth吗

　　汉语可说建议或提议某人做某事，但英语不能说propose sb to do sth，因为propose后习惯上不接不定式的复合结构。要表示类似意思，可改用后接that从句的形式。如：

　　我建议约翰奥里利先生任主席。

　　误：I propose Mr John OLeary to be the chairman.

　　正：I propose that Mr John OLeary should be the chairman.

　　他建议政府调查这个案件。

　　误：He proposed the Government to investigate the case.

　　正：He proposed that the Government should investigate the case.
