　　汉语可说惩罚某人做某事，但英语习惯上不能说 punish sb to do sth。如：

　　正：The teacher punished him by requiring himto sweep the floor.

　　析：汉语说惩罚某人做某事，英语不能直译为 punish sbto do sth，应根据情况改用其它说法。
