　　If you re heading for a foreign country, don t leave home without a bilingual（双语的） dictionary. It is important to learn phrases like thank you, hello, please, and I didnt know she charged money for her time, in case you re in a bind.

　　Instead of being an outsider（外人） looking in, try to transform yourself into a relaxed traveler who is not deterred（吓住） by minor（较小的） setbacks, such as long lines at the train station or delays in visiting hours of certain landmarks. 　　Soak本意是浸泡，一般指为了使某些东西变软和容易清理而做，比如：

　　Soak the beans overnight.

　　把豆子浸泡一整夜。

　　Just leave the dishes to soak; Ill wash them later.

　　先把盘子泡上吧，等会儿我去刷。

　　这里，soak引申为沉浸其中的意思，通常和介词in连用，比如：

　　She soaked herself in detective stories.

　　她沉湎于侦探小说之中。

　　be heading （for）有两个意思，

　　1、表示面临的意思，比如：

　　Theyre heading for a disaster.

　　他们将要面临灾难。

　　2、表示出发,（船）驶往的意思，比如：

　　Our ship was heading for Cuba.

　　我们的船是开往古巴的。

　　在表示这个意思的时候，另外一个类似的短语be headed for可以与之替换，举个例子：

　　What are you guys headed?

　　你们想去哪？

　　别让人看起来像个异乡人，（Instead of being an outsider looking in）而应该尽量放松地投入进去，（try to transform yourself into a relaxed traveler）不被火车站的长队（who is not deterred by minor setbacks long lines at the train station）或者某些景点开放时间延迟而吓倒。（or delays in visiting hours of certain landmarks）

　　visiting hours原意是医院的接待时间，这里指某些景点由于保护的需要，对开放的时间有所限制，几段对外开放的时间就被称作visiting hours.

　　如果你相应地调整了自己的时间，（If you planned accordingly,）就应该能够在这些热闹的景点浪费得起时间。（then you can afford to waste time at the busy tourist hotspots）
