中考单词易错点解析：Wake and Awake

　　Wake

　　to stop sleeping; to make somebody stop sleeping 醒来，唤醒，叫醒 [动词]

　　1. I always wake early in the summer.

　　夏天我总是醒得早。

　　2. Be quiet or youll wake the whole house!

　　安静点吧，别把全家人都吵醒了!

　　3. What time do you usually wake up in the morning?

　　你平常早晨几点钟醒?

　　Awake

　　to wake up; to make somebody wake up 醒来，唤醒，叫醒 [动词]

　　1. I awoke from a deep sleep.

　　我从沉睡中醒来。

　　2. The sound awoke him.

　　这声音把他吵醒了。

　　3. He awoke to find her gone.

　　他醒来发现她已经走了。

　　not asleep (especially immediately before or after sleeping) 醒着的(尤指入睡前或刚醒时)[不可置于名词前]

　　1. He was the only person awake at the moment.

　　他是那时唯一醒着的人。

　　2. The noise was keeping everyone awake.

　　吵闹声吵得大家都睡不着。

　　3. Lily was wide awake all night.

　　莉莉整夜没睡。

　　【注意】

　　1. awake和wake都可以用作动词，表示醒来，唤醒的意思，不过awake比wake更加正式一些，且多用于过去时态。

　　2. awake除了用作动词之外，还可以用作形容词，表示醒着的，不可置于名词前。
