通过观察，能够带ing，而且前面还有be 动词的单词，词性常为动词，这说明we在when I noticed the smaller whale in the pod was white的这个时候发生的一个动作，至于是什么，具体语义并不重要。
目标二：pod
我们也可以发现，它是以in the pod 的介词短语的形式出现的，且存在于一个句子the smaller whale in the pod was white利用语法成分倒推原则，white是表语，was是系动词，主语是the smaller whale in the pod，现在再看，in the pod跟在主语名词后面，职能做后置定语，而whale所能在的地方不外乎都是大片的水域，但是此时若作出这种推断，其实是过于武断的，因为我们极有可能把它往pond上靠，倘若这样，这种推断也非常具有喜感，鲸在池谭，那不是作茧自缚嘛!而如果不是，我们再来想想其他的常见词，如ipod，大容量MP3播放器?高速移动硬盘?猜猜看，听该像是一个小盒子，而鲸在盒子中，也只能想成是在一个无形的盒子，也就是类似族群吧。倘若有同学查查这个单词，多被翻译成.：豆荚，还不如猜来的靠谱。正解是：A pod is a social group of whales. The bond between mother and calf is the strongest. Members of a pod may protect one another.
目标三：grab
这个单词最形象也最好蒙。要是咱们同学看到了有鲸鱼，第一反应，应该是拿起照相机吧，而且是速度超快地，那这个拿也就是对应了grab。
