田径世锦赛中国将派最强阵容出战

Sending its largest-ever team to the IAAF WorldChampionships, which will open on Aug 22 in Beijing,the Chinese track and field team is hoping forbreakthroughs at the National Stadium, also knownas the Bird's Nest.

8月22日北京国家体育场，也就是众所周知的鸟巢将举行世界田径锦标赛，中国派出有史以来最强大的队伍参赛，希望在本次比赛中取得突破。

"I hope the Chinese team can do better than lasttime at the Bird's Nest," said Feng Shuyong, deputydirector of the Chinese Athletics Association andhead coach of the Chinese team.

“我希望中国队在鸟巢能比上次取得更好的成绩，中国田径协会和中国队总教练副主任冯树勇说道。

The last time the Chinese track and field team competed in a major event at the Bird's Nestwas the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, where the home audience saw Liu Xiang, the men's 110mhurdles defending Olympic champion, limp off the track. The Chinese track and field teamcollected only two bronze medals at the 2008 Olympics, with Zhou Chunxiu finishing third in thewomen's marathon and Zhang Wenxiu winning bronze in the women's hammer throw.

上次中国的田径运动队比赛是在北京2008年奥运会上，当时中国观众看到田径110米跨栏卫冕冠军刘翔在跑道上摔倒并离开比赛轨道。在2008年奥运会上，中国田径队累计获得两枚铜牌，周春秀女子马拉松获得第三名和张文秀在女子链球获得铜牌。

"You have many advantages competing on home soil but there is also huge pressure. Last timeLiu Xiang was overburdened with excessive expectations. I think this time the athletes won'tbe under as much pressure," Feng said.

“在我们自己的国土上比赛有很多的优势，但同时我们也有巨大的压力。上次，刘翔因为背负着过高的期望而压力很大。我想这次我们的运动员不会有那么大的压力了，冯教练说道。

China unveiled its biggest squad yet for an athletics world championships, with 69 athletes,comprising 30 men and 39 women. They will compete in 34 events at the tournament in theChinese capital. The event, which has attracted nearly 2,000 athletes from 207 nations andregions, will run from Aug 22 to 30.

中国揭开了世界锦标赛国家队的最强大阵容，包括30名男运动员和39名女运动员。他们将会在中国首都北京锦标赛上参与34个赛事。这项赛事吸引了来自207个国家和地区的2000名运动员，赛事将会从8月22号持续到8月30号。

China's medal hopes are pinned on the men's and women's race walking and the women's shotput, hammer throw and javelin. When Russia withdrew most of its race walking team frominternational competitions in the wake of a series of doping allegations, Feng said he saw agolden chance for China.
