FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke said onWednesday that FIFA would postpone bidding tohost the 2026 World Cup while investigationscontinue into allegations that bribery helpeddetermine hosts of earlier tournaments.

国际足联(FIFA)秘书长杰罗姆·瓦尔克10日表示，鉴于前几届世界杯主办国的选定程序涉嫌受贿，相关调查正在进行，因此FIFA将推迟2026年世界杯的竞标。

FIFA had expected to allocate the 2026 tournament to a host nation in 2017, but it has beenembroiled in scandal since the US indicted 9 top officials on corruption charges last month.

FIFA原计划于2017年决定2026年世界杯东道国，但自上个月，美国对9名涉嫌腐败的FIFA高官提起诉讼，FIFA一直丑闻缠身。

Swiss authorities have also opened an investigation into how the 2018 and 2022 World Cupswere awarded.
