广州恒大的新任主教练

Luiz Felipe Scolari, Brazil's 2002 football World Cup-winning manager, is the new head of defending Chinese Super League champion Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, the club said on Thursday.

中超联赛卫冕冠军广州恒大淘宝队4日宣布，曾带领巴西获得2002年足球世界杯冠军的教头路易斯·菲利佩·斯科拉里将担任俱乐部新教练。

Scolari signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Chinese Super League champions just two weeks after quitting as manager of Brazil's Gremio.

斯科拉里辞去巴西格雷米奥队教练之后仅仅两周，就与恒大淘宝足球俱乐部签订了为期两年半的聘任协议。

The club did not explain in its announcement why Cannavaro the former coach was stepping down.

恒大淘宝俱乐部未在声明中解释前教练卡纳瓦罗卸任的原因。

"According to the club' s strategic development needs, it was decided to appoint Mr Scolari as coach, and once again expresses its heartfelt thanks to the hard work of Mr Cannavaro," it said in a statement, stressing that winning more domestic and Asian games is its main goal.

该俱乐部在声明中表示，"根据俱乐部战略发展需要，特此决定聘任斯科拉里担任教练，并再次衷心感谢卡纳瓦罗所做出的卓越贡献"，同时强调在国内和亚洲比赛中获得更多的胜利是其主要目标。
