　　北京时间6月30日凌晨4点，2014巴西世界杯1/8决赛，哥斯达黎加在120分钟时间内1-1平希腊，点球大战上，哥斯达黎加5-3胜出。而在之前一天的比赛中，巴西也在点球大战中以一球之差胜出，在淘汰赛中第一个挺进八强。

　　Costa Rica won the penalty shoot-out 5-3 to advance to the quarter-finals.

　　Costa Rica beat Greece on penalties later Sunday to reach the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time. That was the second penalty shootout of the weekend, following Brazil's narrow win over Chile on Saturday.

　　哥斯达黎加在当地时间周日的点球大战中战胜希腊，首次进入世界杯四分之一决赛。这也是这个周末上演的第二场点球大战，当地时间周六，巴西在点球大战中以微弱优势战胜智利。

　　世界杯比赛进入淘汰赛阶段(knockout stage)就不允许有平局出现了，因为要决出胜负来决定哪个球队进入四分之一决赛(quarterfinals)。双方若在比赛规定时间内打成平局，就会进行半个小时的加时赛(extra time)，如果加时赛结束还没有决出胜负，就要进行点球大战(penalty shootout)，双方各发5个点球(penalty kick)，进球多者获胜，5个点球后仍为平局的，就继续进行，直到决出胜负为止。
