对等句子

　　在英语语法中有一种句子叫对等句子，那么什么是对等句子?

　　1.对等子句是指一个句子中有两个或多个由对等连接词连接的,并能单独成为一个完整句子的子句。

　　This is my brother and these are my classmates.

　　这是我的兄弟,这些是我的同学。

　　You are my brother and she is my girlfriend.

　　你是我的兄弟，她是我的女朋友。

　　2.对等子句的子句之间也可由连接副词hence, nevertheless, then, therefore等连接。

　　He was the only candidate; therefore, he was elected.

　　他是唯一的候选人,因此他当选了。

　　You're warmhearted; but you're talkative.

　　你亲切而有同情心，但是你多嘴多舌的。

　　He's quite clever; nevertheless, he often makes mistakes.

　　他相当聪明,然而他常常出错。

　　You study well; nevertheless, you seldom help the others.

　　你学习好，然而你很少帮助别人。

　　I am the only suitable candidate; therefore, you should elect me.

　　我是唯一合适的人选，因此，你们应该选我。。

　　3.连接副词可以与对等连接词连用,而两个对等连接词不可以连用。

　　You don't elect either of us, and yet you raise no other candidate.

　　你不选我们中的任何一个，然而你没有提出其他人选。

　　He did not like your suggestion, and yet he raised no objection.

　　他不喜欢你的建议,然而他没有提出反对。

　　and之后的yet是连接副词,不可用but代替。

　　4.由对等连接词and, but, or连接的对等子句的主语相同时,可以省略后一个子句的主语,但for不可以。

　　Dick was apparently indignant, and left the room at once.

　　迪克显然很生气,立刻离开了房间。

　　You may go with him, or stay at home.

　　你可以跟他走,或留在家里。

　　You may elect me, or elect nobody .

　　你可以选我，或者谁也不选。
