老师的办公桌上有一盆花，给它起名叫“紫草花”。我觉得这个名字真好听。为什么叫它“紫草花”呢？是因为它是草本植物，开得花是紫色的，故而得名。 它只有在春天展现出它那美丽的光彩。它开着紫色的花，像穿着紫裙的小姑娘，非常好看。花开满了整个花盆，远远望去像一个紫色的球，而近看才能知道是一盆花。这花儿有一股沁人心脾的芳香，闻了使人心旷神怡。
一朵花有十二到十三个花瓣儿。花心也是紫色的。它的茎细细的，叶子小小的，而花儿较大，占了很大一部分，开了好几十朵。从远望去是看不到叶子的。 这盆花可以净化空气，美化教室。它吸进二氧化碳，吐出氧气。别说这花好处可真不少呢！ 我喜欢这盆“紫草花”，真希望它能一年四季都在开放，那该是多么美好的事情呀！
