ROME, April 3 -- Parma manager Pasquale Marino has been sacked after his side lost to Bari 2-1 at home on Sunday.
Parma finished eighth in Serie A last season but now they are involved in a relegation dogfight and Marino has paid the price for their poor form.
Following the reverse at the hands of rock-bottom Bari, Parma are now just two points above the drop zone and in danger of slipping out of the top flight. Then Marino was asked to go.
Parma chief officer Pietro Leonardi made the announcement but would not reveal if a replacement had been lined up.
He said: "This decision has been really, really difficult for us. We ask for calmness."
One name understood to be under consideration is experienced coach Franco Colomba, who is currently unattached having left Bologna last summer.
