WARSAW, May 1 -- Former Dutch international defender Ruud Krol has advised reigning Italian Serie A champions Juventus to sign Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli.
According to Italian media, while Milik is in talks to extend his contract with Napoli, the former Ajax player is also holding negotiations with Juventus. Krol, who also played for both Ajax and Napoli between 1968 and 1984, claimed that it would be a good move for the "Old Lady" to sign Milik.
"Coach Maurizio Sarri knows him well as they worked together at Napoli. In a partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo, Milik could be as effective as Karim Benzema, if we compare that to the period when Cristiano played with the Frenchman at Real Madrid," Krol was quoted as saying by CalcioMercato.com on Friday.
Polish Football Federation vice-president Marek Kozminski also advised Milik to sign with the Italian champions. "If there really is a chance to join Juve, he should go. It is obvious that he will not play 90 minutes in every match, but during the season there will be plenty of opportunities and he would get his chances from Sarri," said Kozminski.
