Costume 服装

Costume的意思是“服装”，指那些穿上以后会看起来像其他人或其他事物的衣服。

"Julie wore a Wonder Woman costume for the Mardi Gras parade!"

“今年的同性恋游行上朱莉穿了一件神奇女侠的衣服！”

Measuring tape 卷尺

Measuring tape是“卷尺”的意思，卷尺是一种用来做服装的工具。这是一种柔软的尺子，可以用来测量并决定做服装会用到多少面料。

"I'm using the measuring tape to measure the distance between your shoulders."

“我在用卷尺来测量你肩膀的宽度。”

Scissors 剪刀

我们可以用a pair of scissors来裁剪面料至所需要的长度。

"Could I please borrow your pair of scissors to cut the fabric required for my costume?"

你同样可以只说scissors，记住scissors这个词只可以用复数形式。

Thread 线

Thread的意思是“线”，是一种细股的棉或者其他纤维。线通常会缠绕在一个spool "I'm buying a spool of yellow thread and a spool of red thread on Friday."

“我周五会去买一轴黄线和一轴红线。”

你可能也会听到人们说他们要去买线。

"He got some red and yellow thread for our costumes."

Needle 针

用线穿过the eye of a needle "I'm stitching a piece of gold fabric to my red costume using a needle and thread."

Sewing machine 缝纫机

Sewing machine是“缝纫机”的意思，缝纫机是一种缝合面料的机器。用缝纫机来缝纫通常会比手工缝纫更快。

"I used the sewing machine to stitch my skirt."
