WARSAW, March 6 -- Poland need just one point to secure their win over Hong Kong, China in the Davis Cup World Group II playoff match as they lead 2-0 after Kacper Zuk and Jerzy Janowicz won their encounters in Kalisz, Poland on Friday.
Janowicz had a very tough task from the very beginning as Pak Long Yeung turned out to be a worthy opponent. Both players didn't drop their serves. Yeung won tie-break 7-5 to take the lead 1-0.
The second part was also very close. The Pole hit strong shots from the service area and he saved three break points to level the result.
In the third, the Pole turned the course of the game into his favour. Yeung couldn't bear the pressure as Janowicz won the last point after his rival's double fault.
Earlier on, Kacper Zuk had no problem with beating Ching Lam by winning 6-2, 6-1.
On Saturday, Szymon Walkow and Janc Zielinski will face Pak Long Yeung and Hong Kit Wong.
