切勿轻易给孩子开“家庭处方”

最近山东非法经营疫苗案件持续发酵，引起大家的担忧，尤其是在孩子家长中掀起不小的波澜。而除了疫苗，儿童专用药品的短缺也让人担心不已。但专家提醒，家长不要随便给孩子服用成人药品。

The lack of 'child-specific' medication has led many parents to give their children reduced doses of drugs intended for adults. While the practice often works, medical experts are concerned that imprecise doses and inappropriate treatments could endanger young people's safety.

由于儿童专用药品短缺，很多家长给孩子服用减量的成人用药。尽管这样也经常能起到效果，但医学专家担心不精确的剂量和不恰当的治疗会危害孩子的安全。

很多家长在家扮演“家庭医生”的角色（act as the "family doctor"），自己给孩子“开处方”，这种“处方”也被称为parental prescriptions。用药不乏成人用抗生素（antibiotic pill intended for adults）等等。

据卫计委统计，2017年，我国有两万人死于不正确地使用药物（improper use of medicines），其中三分之一的人小于18岁。同年，首都儿研所收治的200多万名患儿中，超过六千人需要急诊治疗，其中不少就是因为在家自行用药（"self-medication"）导致不适。

去年一份报告显示，45%的家长承认曾在未咨询医生的情况下，给孩子减量使用成人药品（give their children a "reduced dose" of adult drugs）。

据调查，20%到30%的家长曾在孩子患流感（seasonal flu）时给孩子吃抗生素（antibiotics），属于抗生素滥用（antibiotic abuse），会导致孩子对抗生素产生抗药性（the body builds up a tolerance if antibiotics are abused）。

专家提醒称，不安全的药物治疗（unsafe medication）甚至会威胁到孩子的生命安全（can be life-threatening）。
