着力解决“民生痛点”

国务院总理李克强在参加山东团审议时表示，要把民生“痛点”作为工作着力点。

On Sunday, Premier Li Keqiang participated in a panel discussion of the Shandong provincial delegation at the current session of the 12th National People's Congress to review the Government Work Report. During the discussion, Li pointed out that the governments should regard solving "the pain points for people's livelihoods" as significant areas for government work.

3月6日，国务院总理李克强参加了十二届全国人大四次会议山东代表团的会议，审议政府工作报告。会上，李克强指出，应该将解决“民生痛点”作为政府工作的着力点。

“民生痛点”（the pain points for people's livelihoods）是群众生活中的“老大难”。“痛点”（pain point），字面上来看，即比较难解决的问题，如果不解决，会让人很痛苦。具体来说，就是教育、医疗、住房、社保、食品安全（education, medical treatment, housing, social security and food safety）等人民群众关注的重点问题。

李克强在会上强调，要把解决好这些民生“痛点”作为政府工作的重要着力点，兜牢民生底线（stick to the bottom line of guaranteeing people's livelihoods），加快脱贫攻坚（accelerate the work of eliminating poverty），提升人民群众获得感（sense of gain）。

李克强的讲话表明政府将大力改善这些民生问题。住房和医疗是群众关注的重点问题，只有政府通过深入和全面的改革（in-depth and all-round reform）来解决这些问题，人民群众才能真正从社会进步中受益（benefit from social progress）。
