BEIJING, Nov. 21 -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Thursday stressed creating more fine works that are thought-provoking and of a high artistic standard to inspire the people's endeavors in the new era.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium marking the 70th founding anniversary of the literary and art gazette Wenyi Bao and the journal People's Literature.
Speaking highly of their contributions to growing socialist literature and art, Huang called on the two publications to carry forward fine traditions, foster stronger cultural confidence, hold fast to literary and artistic ideals, and make greater progress in leading the development of literature and art.
Artists and writers should practice core socialist values and produce works that extol the country and heroes, Huang said.
