SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, July 18 -- An Indian army troop was killed Tuesday in skirmishes between troops of India and Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir, officials said.
The trooper was killed in Nowgam sector of Handwara along the LoC in frontier Kupwara district, 125 km northwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
On Sunday, a Pakistani military vehicle fell into Neelum River after being hit by Indian firing resulting in drowning of four Pakistani soldiers.
Reports said body of one Pakistani soldier was recovered while search for the remaining was going on.
