HANOI, Oct. 13 -- Vietnam's central Da Nang city has basically completed logistics preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Week and related meetings slated for November, according to the municipal Department of External Affairs.
Fourteen five-star hotels will accommodate high-ranking delegates while their entourages, journalists and flight crew members will stay in three- and four-star hotels, Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday.
The department has coordinated with the APEC 2017 Materials and Logistics Sub-Committee to prepare parking space for nearly 1,600 cars serving the event.
The municipal Department of Tourism has had working sessions with nearly 600 directors and managers of hotels across the city to discuss preparations for the week.
The hotels are required to seriously implement measures to ensure security, food safety and hygiene and fire prevention.
The Da Nang General Hospital has joined hands with the BNH International Hospital of Thailand to conduct first-aid training for staff members of 18 resorts and hotels involved in the event.
