TEHRAN, Sept. 17 -- Iran began the second round of the 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 victory over China here on Tuesday.
Tournament hosts Iran were on the front foot in the opening set, taking it with a decisive scoreline of 25-18.
China displayed a much better performance in the second set to lead by as many as five points, but Iran regrouped after the second technical time out to make it a two set advantage, before finishing off their opponents with a comfortable 25-17 win in the third.
The Iranians will meet India in their final Pool E game on Wednesday.
