ALGIERS, Feb. 27 -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday held talks with his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika on promoting cooperation in a range of fields.
The two leaders discussed Tuesday ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and other issues of common interest, including the Syrian crisis, local media reported.
Erdogan also co-chaired with Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, which brought together a large number of Algerian and Turkish companies and businessmen to give a new impetus to the bilateral trade.
As a result of Erdogan's visit, Algeria and Turkey inked seven partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding in the sectors of energy, higher education, diplomacy, culture, tourism and agriculture.
This is Erdogan's second visit to the North African nation as president.
