BEIJING, March 1 -- Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chen Xi on Thursday attended the opening ceremony of the spring semester of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, and stressed the importance of studying and implementing the spirit of the 19the CPC National Congress.

Chen, president of the school and a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also stressed the importance of studying "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era," in his speech at the ceremony.

He urged CPC officials to rally closely around the CPC Central Committee with Xi at the core, mentally, politically, and actively.

Chen said it is the guide for the Party and state to achieve success and fundamental guarantee to carry out China's great causes to uphold the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core.
