KATHMANDU, Dec. 16 -- Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington D.C. on Tuesday during his visit to the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said here on Sunday.
Gyawali's visit is at the invitation of Pompeo. Their talks will be revolved around further expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of economy, tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges, senior officials at the ministry said.
The two sides will review the political and strategic ties between the two countries, the officials said.
The two countries are holding the official talks at the level of foreign ministers after a gap of 16 years, according to senior officials of the ministry.
During his visit, the Nepali foreign minister will also have meetings with high-level officials from the White House, United States Agency for International Development, and Millennium Challenge Corporation, among others, the ministry said.
