Producer and home preservationist Michael LaFetra has reduced the price of his Malibu, Calif., beachfront home by almost 20%, to $14.5 million.

Architect James Tyler finished the project. Mr. LaFetra bought the property in 1999 for $2.6 million and spent from 2002 to 2011 constructing a steel-, concrete- and glass-clad home. He put in custom-made Murphy beds, a car lift and a variety of eco-friendly features such as solar panels, cork flooring and radiant heat. 'I haven't paid an electric bill yet,' Mr. LaFetra says. The property also has a drawbridge with direct access to a private beach.

An approximately 11,000-square-foot home in San Francisco's Pacific Heights, built in 1902 for the daughter of banker Isaias W. Hellman, has been relisted for $14.9 million, according to people familiar with the situation. Designed by architect Julius Krafft, the brick Neoclassical house has seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and three half bathrooms on four levels.
