BEIJING, Jan. 3 -- Hu Jinqiu scored 22 points and Lin Zhijie added 19 as Guangsha won over Beijing 110-93 at home in the 28th round of the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday night.
Led by Courtney Fortson, Guangsha started the match with a 9-2 run and consecutive three-pointers by Li Jinglong made it 31-18 into the second quarter.
Beijing once outscored Guangsha 66-64 in the third thanks to a gritty defense and six straight points by Justin Hamilton. However, Guangsha quickly erased the deficit and restored the lead.
After Li got a pair of free throws, Guangsha took a 16-point lead and eventually sealed the 17-point win.
Xinjiang claimed a 100-89 victory over Guangzhou as Xiralijan Muhtar, who spent 10 seasons with Xinjiang before coming to Guangzhou as a loan player last summer, came back to the Hongshan Stadium.
Xinjiang grabbed a 46-40 lead at the break and ran the lead to 21 in the third.
Visiting Guangzhou saw a chance in the last quarter as Xiralijan shot six consecutive three-pointers to cut the deficit to seven. But Li Gen answered with six straight points for Xinjiang to hold on.
Xiralijan got a game-high 29 points including eight 3-pointers, Darius Adams had 26 points for Xinjiang.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Shanxi beat Qingdao 107-101, Shenzhen rallied to past Sichuan 123-116, Tianjin defeated Tongxi 110-102.
