BEIJING, June 29 -- Top political advisor Wang Yang on Friday met with a delegation headed by Kao Chin Su-mei, honorary advisor of a Taiwan-based forum for cross-Strait peaceful development.
Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highly commended the efforts of Kao Chin Su-mei and other members of the delegation in upholding the one-China principle, opposing "Taiwan independence" and promoting cross-Strait peaceful development.
The mainland is willing to engage in dialogues and consultations regarding cross-Strait relations and the future of the Chinese nation with all parties, groups and individuals in Taiwan, who adhere to the 1992 Consensus and oppose "Taiwan independence," said Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
He noted that the mainland is ready to listen to the voice of Taiwan compatriots and fully implement various favorable policies benefiting Taiwan, especially to help improve the living standards of ethnic minorities and those at the primary-level in Taiwan.
Kao Chin Su-mei said that compatriots across the Taiwan Strait all belong to the Chinese nation and should jointly promote cross-Strait peaceful development and contribute to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
