ZHENGZHOU, March 3 -- Brazilian striker Henrique Dourado suffered tibial fracture in the game when Henan Jianye tied Dalian Yifang 1-1 as the Chinese Super League (CSL) kicked off its new season on Sunday.

"Dourado needs to have surgery because he suffered serious injury, and it may take a long time for him to recover," his doctor Song Xiaodong said.

During the first half of the game, Dourado was tripped by Qin Sheng of Dalian Yifang, and was then taken to hospital.

The 29-year-old striker joined Henan Jianye in recent days, and it was his first CSL game.
