BEIJING, June 10 -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang Monday attended a symposium and consulted with representatives of non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce on leading high-quality development through innovation.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, expressed appreciation for the results of the research conducted by relevant groups.
He also stressed the importance of such research and consultation in advancing the country's system of consultation by political parties.
At the symposium, leaders of some non-communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce as well as one representative of people without party affiliations delivered speeches on the results of their research and gave suggestions in this regard.
Their suggestions included greater policy support and enhanced talent pool supply to promote further integration of digital economy and real economy and move China's manufacturing industry up to the medium-high end, strengthening construction of the platform for technological innovation, deepening cooperation in innovation through the Belt and Road Initiative and giving better play to the role of private businesses in innovations in some key sectors and core technologies.
They also suggested efforts to restructure the system for research and development of generic technology and to break bottlenecks.
