BEIJING, May 31 -- China and Thailand will enhance law enforcement and security cooperation to ensure the safety of the people and their property, according to senior Chinese and Thai officials on Friday.
Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam in Beijing.
Guo said China will work with Thailand to implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two countries and advance their comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
He called on the two countries' law enforcement and security departments to deepen cooperation to jointly combat various kinds of cross-border crimes.
State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi held talks with Wissanu on Friday.
Zhao said the bilateral law enforcement cooperation should focus on asset recovery, apprehending fugitives, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism and ensuring the security of the Belt and Road construction.
Wissanu said Thailand is willing to promote cooperation in law enforcement and security with China and in-depth development of the bilateral ties.
