国内英语资讯:Senior official stresses CPPCCs role in overseas exchanges

BEIJING, Sept. 7 -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Friday underscored the importance of the role of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in exchanges with other countries.

The CPPCC should adopt a strategic perspective, broaden its international horizon and give full play to its role of building consensus with other countries amidst complex and volatile international situations, Wang, chairman of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, said at a meeting of the Leading Party Members Group of the CPPCC National Committee.

The CPPCC should think and act in line with the judgments on international situations and policies on foreign affairs made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he said.

Wang also urged the CPPCC to actively engage in exchanges with other countries and make more foreign friends.

He called on the CPPCC to help other countries increase their understanding of China by introducing to them to China's development path, the principles it holds in taking part in global governance, as well as its political and institutional advantages.
