GUIYANG, July 8 -- A total of 21 trainees from six African countries are receiving agricultural technology training in southwest China's Guizhou Province, Guizhou University said Sunday.
Trainees from Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria and Tanzania are taking part in an eight-day Education Ministry-led program in the university, which started on July 2. Forums, seminars and field trips covering a wide range of fields are being held.
They have also been shown China's agriculture and science parks, grain and oil production, pollution-free vegetable and mushroom cultivation techniques, and insect-resistant technologies.
"I wish this training can boost friendly exchanges and economic cooperation between Guizhou and African countries, and provide technologies and talent for the development of the agriculture in Africa, as well as strengthen our friendship," said Wang Hui, chairwoman of the provincial education union.
"I hope our trainees can bring knowledge and techniques that they've learned in China back to Africa to benefit people there," said Karima I. Babangida, one of the trainees and director of the Agricultural Extension of the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
