朝鲜“地下核试验”

据朝鲜官方的朝中社12日报道，朝鲜当天成功进行了地下核试验。有外交人士透露，联合国安理会将于美国东部时间12日9时召开紧急会议，讨论朝鲜的核试验问题。

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Tuesday it has successfully conducted the third underground nuclear test, according to the official KCNA news agency.

朝鲜官方的朝中社报道，朝鲜已于本周二（2月12日）成功进行了第三次地下核试验。

Underground nuclear test就是“地下核试验”，是把设计的核装置（nuclear device or nuclear warhead）经过多种复杂的环境考验后，放到一定深度的地下进行核爆炸（nuclear explosion），以验证所试验的核装置是否满足要求，验证理论计算和工程设计是否正确，以改进设计和为生产提供科学依据等。地下核试验利于安全保密，也可减少对环境的放射性污染（radioactive pollution）。

随着nuclear facilities（核设施）分布日益广泛、nuclear radioactive material（核放射性材料）使用的日益增多，世界各国都面临各种形式的恐怖主义（nuclear terrorism）威胁。Nuclear security（核安全）一直都是全球共同面临和关心的重大议题。涉及核安全的说法有：nuclear material（核材料）、nuclear power（核大国）、nuclear disarmament（核裁军）、nuclear weapon（核武器）、nuclear leakage（核泄漏）、nuclear blackmail（核讹诈）、nuclear proliferation（核扩散）、nuclear deterrence（核威慑）等。
