湖北省武汉市将试点建立生物虹膜识别数据库，不远的未来，虹膜识别技术或将在打击拐卖儿童行动中发挥作用。
The program, proposed by iris recognition technology company EyeSmart, will establish 100 data collection spots in the city. Parents can take their children to the spots to have their iris scanned. If a child who is registered on the database goes missing and is found, an iris scan will be able to quickly determine his or her identity, much faster than DNA identification.
该项目由虹膜识别技术公司释码大华科技有限公司提出，将在武汉建立100个数据采集点。家长可以带着孩子到采集点扫描采集虹膜数据。在数据库中有记录的孩子走失被找回后，扫描虹膜便可迅速确定其身份，比DNA身份核验更加快捷。
虹膜（iris）是位于黑色瞳孔和白色巩膜之间的圆环状部分（thin, circular structure），一个人的虹膜在出生18个月后便发育成型，不再改变。虹膜识别技术（iris recognition technology）便是利用虹膜的不变性，通过图形识别技术（pattern-recognition techniques）对人眼中的虹膜图像进行对比识别。虹膜识别技术与相应的算法结合后，可以到达十分优异的准确度。
目前常见的生物识别技术（biometric identification technology）包括：指纹识别（fingerprint identification）、声音识别（voice identification）、面部识别（facial recognition）、掌纹识别（palm print idenfication）、视网膜识别（retina recognition）以及虹膜识别（iris recognition）。
今年5月，公安部儿童失踪信息紧急发布平台（emergency response system）上线。全国各地公安机关在接到儿童失踪报警后，通过这一平台及时上报信息，相关信息会在第一时间通过“公安部儿童失踪信息紧急发布平台”官方微博等新媒体、高德地图等移动应用对公众发布，同时通过相应渠道自动推送到儿童失踪地周边的相关人群，收到推送的用户可拨打110或者信息中的打拐民警电话提供线索。
