First of all,you live in boxes. Every morning, you leave your big boxes and get into smaller boxes on the wheels(轮子) .All these small boxes run around and finally stop to rest. You then leave these boxes on wheels and go to large boxes.
After working all days, you get back in your little boxes and return to your big boxes. There, you sit and stare at(盯着看)tiny boxes with soft light and moving pictures in front of you.
Only one thing puzzles me.One day, I went to a playground.A group of angry boys fought over a little round ball.Every one by the ground shouted, trying to stop them but they kept on fighting. They were angry,I suppose, about being trapped(困住) in boxes all day.
Thank you for this chance to get to know you.

In China, more and more middle school students are getting shorter sleeping time than before. More students sleep less than nine hours every night, because they have much homework to do. Some homework is given by their teachers, and some by their parents. Also, some students don’t know how to save time. They are not careful enough while they do their homework, so it takes them a lot of time. Some students spend too much time watching TV or playing computer games. They stay up very late. Some students have to get up early every morning on weekdays to get to school on time by bus of by bike . It can be a long way from home to school. It will probably make them sleepy during school hours.
Schools and parents should cut down some of the homework so that our children can enjoy more than nine hours of sleep every night for their health. For children, they should make the most (best use) of their time. When they have enough time for sleeping ,they will find it much better for both their study and health.

The tradition(传统)of birthday parties started a long time ago. There are some traditions that you can find almost anywhere, anytime, such as sending birthday cards, blowing out the candles on a birthday cake and singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song. Others are only found for certain ages and in certain countries.
In China, on a child’s second birthday, family members put many things on the floor around the child. According to Chinese tradition, the first thing that the child picks up tells you what profession the child will choose later in life.
For Japanese children, the third, fifth and seventh birthdays are especially important. At this age(年龄), there is a special celebration Shichi-Go-San (seven, five, three in Japanese) when children go to the temple wearing a new kimono (和服). The priest (僧侣) gives them special sweets, and the parents usually organize a party for their friends in their home.
In Latin American countries ,such as, Argentina, Mexico and several other Latin American countries, girls have a special birthday celebration when they reach the age of fifteen. After a special ceremony (仪式), the girls dance a waltz with their father and other boys.
In Britain, eighteen is the traditional ‘coming of age’— the age when you have the right to vote, join the army and drink alcohol or buy a house.
In many English-speaking countries, a twenty-first birthday cake often has a key on top, or the cake itself is sometimes in the shape of a key. The key means that the young person is now old enough to leave and enter the family home at any time they want to!

Dear Zhou Lin,
Haven’t seen you for ages.Glad to hear from you. You said that you have troubles in learning English. Don’t worry. I’ll give you some advice.
First, if you want to improve your listening ability, you may listen to some tapes and radio programmes in English. You can also watch English TV programmes or films. Morever, I think it’s good to read aloud and you’d better talk as much as possible with English people. I’m sure the more you practise, the better you’ll speak.
I believe you’ll make great progress.
Best wishes.
Yours truly,
Lucy
