Thunder strike out Lakers to reach west finals
The Oklahoma City Thunder were one game away from a finals berth in the Western Conference going into game five against the LA Lakers. The Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs by Los Angeles in 2010 and Dallas in 2011, with both those teams going on to win the championship. After already beating Dallas this year, it seems the Thunder are on a roll.
Kobe Bryant, who anchored LA’s offence throughout the game, drilled this reverse layup to give the Lakers a 3 point lead.
Off a fast break, Russell Westbrook finds Kevin Durant, whose airborne dunk regains the Thunder lead. The dynamic duo were phenominal throughout.

Durant hits a clutch triple, pretty much sealing it for the Thunder early in the final term.

Eventally, City coasts to a 106-90 win, and take the series 4-1, advancing to the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are the only team other than the Lakers or Mavericks to win the West in the past 13 years and are currently riding an 18-game winning streak.
