/æ/：短元音。该音俗称梅花音。发音时，舌尖抵下齿，舌身低平，前舌稍高，但比其他前元音/ɪ/、/e/要低，口要张大，口开约三分之二，可以容纳食指和中指，双唇向两边伸张，稍扁，发这个音时咽喉要收缩。如：plan/plæn/，have/hæv/，action/'ækʃən/，单词示例：
