Paulo Odone, president of Brazilian soccer club Gremio, announced on Saturday that his team is close to signing star midfielder Ronaldinho from AC Milan.
Odone said that the negotiations are underway and an agreement is drawing near.
"Ronaldinho hopes to return to Brazil and end his career with Gremio," he said.
Ronaldinho has openly expressed his intent to leave AC Milan after failing to keep his spot in the starting line-up this season.
Media said Palmeiras, Los Angeles Galaxy and England's Liverpool are all interested in the former World Footballer of the Year.
