Germany striker Miroslav Klose will be sidelined for three weeks after aggravating a thigh muscle injury, according to what a medical scan revealed on Thursday.
The Bayern Munich striker tore a muscle in his thigh in Germany's 3-0 win over Kazakhstan in a Euro 2012 qualifier earlier this month.
The 32-year-old sat out Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Werder Bremen in the German Cup with flu and pulled up in training before a scan revealed the damage.
Klose has been in a superb run of form for the national side, with six goals in four games this season, leaving him only 10 shy of Gerd Mueller's all-time record of 68 in a Germany shirt.
