A portion of a false ceiling at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the main venue of the upcoming Commonwealth Games in the Indian capital, collapsed Wednesday, causing no injuries, reported the Indo-Asian News Service.
The Central Public Works Department which renovated the stadium said tiles came down as maintenance work was being carried out, said the report.
The weightlifting event is scheduled to be held at the newly- built hall where the ceiling fell.
At least 23 workers were injured Tuesday when an overbridge under construction near the stadium collapsed.
