Slovenia started strong, leading 12-0 after nearly seven minutes. Slovenia maintained its lead from the start of the game till the very end, ending the first half with a crushing 42-21.
Slovenia's momentum slowed down a bit in the second half, with both teams scoring more evenly, but the gap continued to widen before the final buzzer.
Slovenia's Jaka Lakovic was the highest scorer of the game with 19 points, including 5 three-pointers. Joe Ingles and Patrick Mills tied for top scorers for Australia with 13 points each.
Slovenia will face host Turkey in the quarter-finals.
