Vera Zvonareva chalked up her first victory since her runner-up finish at the Wimbledon Open, beating Dominika Cibulkova 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 at the WTA San Diego Open on Tuesday.
Zvonareva, ranked ninth in the world, did not appear to show any effects from the right hamstring injury that forced her to withdraw last week from the Bank of the West Classic.
"There were moments I would give myself an 'A'," Zvonareva said of the match. "There were moments I would give myself a 'D'... At the end of the day, I won the match and that's the most important thing."
