奥运新关注：2020年奥运将新增五个项目

北京时间8月4日，国际奥委会投票通过了在2020年东京奥运会上新增五个项目的提案，五种运动分别是棒垒球、攀岩、空手道、冲浪以及滑板，其中棒垒球是时隔12年重回奥运大舞台。

After two years of vetting, the International Olympic Committee on Wednesday formally approved the inclusion of surfing, skateboarding, karate, rock climbing, baseball and softball for the 2020 summer games in Tokyo.

经过两年筛选，国际奥委会8月3日正式批准将冲浪、滑板、空手道、攀岩以及棒垒球列为2020年东京夏季奥运会比赛项目。

Although most of the new sports are making their Olympic debut (baseball and softball were included in previous Olympic games), this announcement only secures their spot in the Tokyo games and does not guarantee inclusion in future games.

除棒垒球以外，此次新增的项目都是首度亮相奥运会，不过，新增项目仅限于东京奥运会，以后的奥运会是否保留这些项目尚不确定。

The new sports will add 18 events and 474 athletes to the program. The Tokyo Games will now feature 33 sports and about 11,000 athletes, compared to the usual number of 28 sports and 10,500 athletes.

这些新增项目将为东京奥运会增加18个比赛项目和474名运动员。由此，与以往的28个项目以及10500名运动员规模相比，东京奥运会将有33个比赛大项和约11000名运动员。

“新增”比赛项目在英文中可以用动词形式的include和add，或者名词形式的inclusion和addition来表示，比如：the IOC includes/adds 5 new sports for 2020 Tokyo Olympics，或者the IOC approved the addition/inclusion of five sports to the program of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics。

此次东京奥运会新增的5个项目多是年轻人喜欢的，其中冲浪和滑板都属于极限运动(extreme sports)。

届时，滑板比赛将分为街式滑板(street skateboarding)和公园滑板(park skateboarding)，冲浪项目将只进行短板冲浪比赛(shortboard surfing)。

空手道(karate)是日本传统格斗术结合琉球武术唐手而形成的，起源于日本武道和琉球的唐手。1994年日本广岛亚运会空手道首次成为正式比赛项目。2020年奥运会期间，将进行男女空手道对打(Kumite)以及形(Kara)项目的竞技。(注解：形指为了打败假想敌而预先安排的一系列有序的动作。形包含踢、打、扫、撞、挡和投摔。)

我们来看看里约奥运会的比赛大项都有哪些：射箭(archery)、体操(artistic gymnastics)、跳水(diving)、田径(athletics)、羽毛球(badminton)、篮球(basketball)、排球(volleyball)、拳击(boxing)、皮划艇(canoe slalom)、自行车(cycling)、游泳(swimming)、马术(equestrian)、击剑(fencing)、足球(football)、高尔夫(golf)、手球(handball)、曲棍球(hockey)、柔道(judo)、现代五项(modern pentathlon，包括击剑、游泳、马术、射击和游泳)、赛艇(rowing)、七人制橄榄球(rugby sevens)、水球(water polo)、帆船(sailing)、射击(shooting)、乒乓球(table tennis)、跆拳道(taekwondo)、网球(tennis)、铁人三项(triathlon，包括游泳、自行车以及跑步)、举重(weightlifting)、摔跤(wrestling)。

其中，高尔夫重返奥运会，七人制橄榄球(rugby sevens)为新增项目。
