In the US, McDonald’s admit to using genetically modified organisms (GMO) in some dishes – largely items containing “ingredients derived from corn, soy and canola.” In the UK, however, the company claims that it doesn’t use GM foods. GM foods are controversial – countries such as France and Russia have banned them altogether.
